This weekend we had the opportunity to visit iT’Z in northwest Houston. The kids have seen commercials for it and of course we checked it out online before making a commitment, but once we got a weekend free we decided to head over that and see what they had to offer for family, food and fun.
If you haven’t heard of iT’Z it is a food buffet, dining rooms, arcade, and bowling alley with rides all rolled into one great big family adventure. They say that “Our mission is to create a fun experience for families. We do this by combining affordable family dining with quality entertainment. Unlimited buffet? Check. The latest and greatest games? Without a doubt. Guaranteed good times? Absolutely. iT’Z all here!
First, we headed to the unlimited soup, salad, pizza and drink buffet. I’ll just add that they also had hotdogs and a baked potato and pasta bar. In our case the kids enjoyed the pizza more than mom or dad did, but I did enjoy my salad and loaded baked potato.
We started off with bumper cars, and well we ended the day there too – so I guess you know how much they enjoyed them! Next we headed off to the rocket ride, the rock climbing and then the girls took on mom with a four player game of Pac-Man. They were surprised to see that old mom did know a thing or two about this game (I won twice!)
We headed to the main arcade from there to try to win some mega tickets. You then turn your tickets in for prizes.
It was a little hard to figure out the ticket price structure, but going to the refill/charging station made it easier. I paid 10.00 to refill my card and that gave me 40 credits. Games average 4 credits each to play.
Bottom line – the kids had a great time! They wanted to come back and use one of the private rooms available for parties so that means it scored high with them, of course that made mom and dad happy too. The addition of rides and other activities sets iT’Z apart from other arcades.
